FROM THE CONSERVATIONIST’S EYE

Months ago. while we were discussing  on our new initiatives related to  a corporate social responsibility project know as “Preserve Our Reserves”.

We came up with this concept of this newsletter. We planned it as a part of our efforts to bring out some sincere conservation activities happening around us and to promote core activities happening at some of kerala’s best tourist destinations. During the CSR campaign, our preserve our reserves team happened to realize the fact that many genuine efforts by people, organizations, and semi-government agencies needed more attention from the media and industry as well. We believe tourism is a very broad vision and like we have been reiterating for several years now, all of us share the responsibility to look out for our ecosystem and community. Tourism should not become an intruder in our virgin socio-ecological system, but a channel for sustainable uplift of the society and ecology. We intent “Harit Samvad” to become a messenger of all responsible tourism activities and thus build a healthy nexus between the industry and the local community. We would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the efforts by PTR officials, especially Mr.Sanjayan Kumar (Deputy Director of Periyar East Division), for the countless efforts they have taken to conserve periyar and this has always been a moral boost for our ‘Preserve our Reserves’ Initiatives.
